The Mess
Messy, and complicated, the old process of fitting custom orthotics takes time, special skills and patient compliance. And you’re not done at this step. You still must mold the insert using your insert materials to arrive at the original insert casting.
Then machine the raw orthotic to approximate the patient foot shape, trial fit the raw orthotics, and adjust the orhtotic until it fits your patient’s footwear. The time required to cast, mold, machine and fit can take weeks, and require multiple patient visits to adjust the product.
At the end of the day, your clinic will be deprived of cash flow until you come out the other side of this time consuming method of producing orthotics.
